Mommy's Fantastic Garage Sale Find

You know those super-cool bead toys that you always find in the doctor's office, but are afraid to let your kid touch because who knows how many nasty, sick little rugrats have slobbered and wiped their noses on it? Well, I found this for a buck at a garage sale, and we have loads of non-funky fun right here in our own home!

Rough Day, Buddy?

Maybe it was hearing the doctor say that we have to get a flu shot in 2 weeks!

Favorite Toy/Snack of the Day

Michael found the oxygen tubing for his nebulizer to be most tasty.

Sound Asleep

I just love the tooshie in the air. I do, however, object to how girlie Michael's hair looks in this picture. Daddy might be right- it will be time for a haircut soon!

Playing Catch

Michael has quite the arm on him. However, we do need to work on the aim. Note the initials on the ball- this was his Daddy's ball when he was a little boy.

Playing Ball

Michael LOVES to roll and chase the ball around the tile.

Longing For the Great Outdoors

"Come on, Mom. Let me outside to play in the dirt and catch bugs!!"

A REAL Man's Breakfast

A Substitute LinkyDoo

The Green one was AWOL, so the red one just had to do.

The Difference Between Guys and Girls

Besides the obvious (I did take anatomy in nursing school!), it was so funny to see how different Summer and Michael are. Summer is dainty, a little prissy, thoughtful, and very sensitive. My boy, on the other hand, is full speed ahead 24/7. Summer daintily picks up her food and sets each individual piece politely in her mouth... Michael shovels it in with his whole arm! Summer gently plays with her toys while chattering to them... Michael THROWS his toys or bangs them with all his might, and all we hear is an occasional manly grunt or a squeel of delight when it makes a really loud noise! Boys will be boys... And I definitely have a 100% all-boy in Michael!

Still Working on the Sippy Cup

Michael had mastered one brand of soft-tipped sippy cups, then loved it so much that he bit the top off! So... we keep working on it!

A New Creative Use for LinkyDoos

Good thinking, Summer! Balance it on your toes!

Two Little Crazy Kids

We got to watch/play with Summer again this week, and Michael introduced Summer to the fantastic edible world of Linky-Doos. They both were pretty hilarious walking/crawling around with them in their mouths. Of course it kept the talking to a minimum.

An Early Reader

Don't be too impressed. Not only is it upside down, it is facing the wrong way, so he is reading the outside cover. Silly boy!

This Book is Fantastic!!

Thank you, Miss Tiffany Wagner, for the very special book. It is Michael's new favorite (both to read and to eat!)

Greeting Daddy in the Morning

Even though Daddy's office is in the basement, he has been very busy lately, working really early and really late 6 days a week to bring home the bacon. We miss him and savor every little visit that we can! We LOVE you daddy, and appreciate all your hard work (even when Mommy whines that you work too much. We really do appreciate all you do for us!!)

Getting Ready for Church

Yes, the pants are a little long- he gets his stubby legs and long torso from his mother! This is the "I'm getting ready to sit" pose.

What's Up With the Tongue?!?!?!

Michael is constantly sticking his tongue out lately! Why, you ask? I think it is just in case something might fly by and he doesn't want to miss the opportunity to taste something.
By the way, what is up with all baby toys now playing some form of classical music? I mean, if they really want to make kids smart, you would think that the toys and videos and swings and everything else would quote multiplication tables or conjugate verbs or something!

Super-Cute Top Teeth

I just love how cute Michael's top teeth are. It took extreme tickle torture to get this toothy picture, as I couldn't get him to keep his tongue in his mouth for more than 5 seconds!! Posted by Picasa

Self-feeding

Okay, so Michael is not so advanced that he feeds himself with a spoon yet, but he has this new (and very annoying, but strangely amusing) habit of biting down on the spoon when he get a bite of oatmeal, and he WON'T LET GO! He sometimes clenches on the spoon for 10-15 seconds. It is cute the first time or two, but after 15 bites, it isn't so cute anymore!!

Playing Peek-a-Boo with Daddy

Daddy and Michael get to spend some guy time together when Mommy works at the hospital. I sometimes get the feeling that they don't miss me at all...

Favorite Green Linky-Doo

I'm not really sure what they are officially called- those rings that you link together- but Michael LOVES the green one. He often takes it with him on his many adventures throughout the house.

Michael, What Do You Think of Pathogenic Organisms?

We say, "You will die, you nasty respiratory bugs!!!"

It's a Hard Knock Life

Poor little guy keeps tugging at his ears. They looked less red today at the doctors office, so hopefully will stop hurting soon! His lungs sounded worse, though, so we added a second steroid to our pulmonary cocktail. We go back Friday for a follow-up, so will keep you posted.
