Michael Discovers Ketchup!

Hey, tomatoes are vegetables, right?!

When Dad is Away...

I'M the king of this palace!!

Brought To You By the Letter... X

We are learning our letters, and Michael somehow misplaced the letter X. We think it might have been hijacked by the folks at PBS and forced to sponsor a Sesame Street show! (Brought to you by... The Letter X!)

One of God's Chosen?

So Pull Out Your Yarmulke...

Future Electrician?

Michael discovered that the light switches operate the lights and the fan. What a fun new toy!

Oh, To Be Outside!

Michael is preparing for a nap, but dreaming of playing outside.

Cutie Boy!

Michael found daddy's winter hat, and decided it was cool enough to wear even in the summer!

Another Fun Un-Toy

This empty butter container kept Michael entertained while I fixed lunch (Michael's favorite- grilled cheese and creamed spinach! Yes, he does love creamed spinach!) It is funny how the most un-toys become so entertaining!

For the Love of Clifford

Michael ADORES dogs, but especially his ride-on doggy, Clifford (thanks mom, GREAT Christmas gift!) He takes Clifford to all the fun places in the house- the bathroom, pushed down the stairs, on top of the desk... the adventure never ends!

Meditation, Perhaps?

I found Michael sitting on the coffee table with his legs crossed.

Future Mechanic?

"The tire pressure looks okay, and the lug nuts are tight..."

Coloring a Picture for Daddy

Where's Waldo... er... Michael?

Look really hard and you can find him!

More Fun New Toys...

Michael enjoyed playing with some paper bags, and spent many hours finding new fun uses for them.

Please Pray for Johnny

As many of you know, Jon and I work with the teens in our church youth group. We have grown to love them so much, and really enjoy the ministry that God has allowed us to be a part of. One of our teens, Johnny Bryan, was diagnosed last week with a recurrence of Leukemia. He battled Leukemia as a child, and had been in remission for about 7 years, which, in most medical opinions, means that he is "cured." Johnny is undergoing intense chemotherapy this week, and has been on our hearts and minds constantly. We ask that you join us in praying for Johnny and his family as they fight this cancer, and above all, we ask that God would show himself strong in their lives and be glorified through it all.
"I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait for the LORD; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the LORD." Psalm 27:13-14

Riding High

Michael wanted Clifford to have the aerial couch-view. This was a great idea in theory until he realized that the squishiness of the couch was not a great riding surface.

What A Helper!

Apparently, Michael thought that my sweep job needed to be redone by an expert. I will never discourage a desire to clean! In fact, I plan on having Michael take over all the upstairs chores in a few months when the baby arrives! :-) Get scrubbing, buddy!

Favorite New Perch

Michael loves to sit on the arm of the couch by the desk and keep me company when I am working on the computer. He is an adorable (though not very helpful) assistant.

I Would Like To Take This Opportunity...

to say...

"Hello!"

Blakemore Baby Photo Shoot

Sweet little hand on his/her face.

(Two tiny little feet side by side.)

We had our 20 week ultrasound on Friday, and little one is either shy or stubborn (you decide...) We have to return for another ultrasound in 2 weeks, as the baby was quite comfortable and would not turn over for heart, belly, and blood vessel pictures. The baby laid with his legs together and face down the entire time. I guess she is camera shy. (For those who automatically think that makes her a girl, know that Michael also would not show any personal parts to the ultrasound tech either). So no, we do not know what we are having, but we know that we are excited and prepared for either one. The suggestion box is still out for names.

PS Congrats to Chad and Christy Magers on the birth of Joshua Landon Magers. We are so happy for your healthy baby boy!!

Mmmmmmm... Chocolate Pudding!

Michael enjoyed a little dessert before bed last night, and after taking his first bite, looked at me and said "Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!" with wide eyes. Welcome to the world of chocolate, my son!

Happy 1,000th Post

(an original post flashback)
This post is number 1,000! We just want to say thanks for all who keep up with our family through our blog. We enjoy all your comments. We hope that as we continue to grow our family, that we can stay close to you all, and keep you updated on all our daily adventures, both great and small.

Breakfast Time

Yes, I am too cheap to buy "real" Honey Nut Cheerios, so honey Nut Spins it is!

Turn Your Head for ONE Minute...

... and the little monkey climbs up on the dining room table. Until then, I had not specifically told Michael that it was not acceptable to walk on the dining table, so essentially he was not disobeying, but now we have a new rule...

A Sunday Sermon

Michael has an ear infection and possibly strep throat, so we stayed home from church on Sunday morning and listened to a live streaming of Temple Baptist Church in Powell, TN. This is where we take our teens the first week of July for the Youth Congress, and what a challenge it is! We look forward to it again this year!

Feel Better, Daddy!

I'm Dying to Tickle that Bare Tummy!

Memorial Day Fun

These were taken not long before Jon's accident. (which, by the way, Jon is still upset that I didn't get any cool pictures of his bone nearly sticking out of his leg.) This is the Scantlin's dog Minnie (short for Minnesota), and she is a Westie. Personally, Minnesota sounds a little Mid-Westie to me, so I think they should have named her Oregon or something a little more true to her breed.

Cooling Off on a Hot Summer Day

Mikaela came over yesterday, and the two enjoyed a nice, cool dip in the pool (which I found at Walmart for $7.00! Who knew they were so cheap!) I have a feeling we will be spending a lot of time out there this summer!

Super Cuties!

Little Plumber

This pose was taken a split second (pun intended) before Michael decided to POOP in the pool! I thought those "Little Swimmer" diapers were ridiculous, but now I think they might kinda be nice! Boys ARE nasty!
