My Valentine brought me flowers before the storm in case he couldn't get out on Valentine's day.
The kids are missing their school valentine parties today, but now we get the best of both worlds with being able to spend all day with the ones we love, and they get a party when they go back to school.
They woke up to little individual heart-shaped boxes of candy. I never knew that a $1 gift would bring them so much joy. So yes, they had chocolates for breakfast. We'll make up for it with eggs for lunch. :-)
Kate loves to write and make notes. She often will leave notes in various places, and I find them after she goes to bed.

This was on my bedroom door when I got home from work one night around midnight.
For Valentine's Day, we are helping a child through Show Hope who is in need of heart surgery for CHD. The kids were so excited to be part of this, and they were very generous with their money to help a child in need. Kate decided that she would write a letter to the orphanage for one of the kids awaiting heart surgery. Sweet girl didn't realize that it was possible to not have a mommy and daddy, even though we are supporting an orphan and have talked about it quite a bit. She was devastated when I told her that this child probably doesn't have a mommy to love him. She has such a sweet, tender heart, and I hope it stays that way!
Michael started piano lessons in September, and he really loves learning music. His teacher is really wonderful, and she makes it fun. Michael actually practices on his own and sometimes plays past what he is assigned to do. I'm glad for my musical husband who can help Michael with both theory and technique.
And oh boy, I'm going to be in trouble when he gets a little older and the girls start taking notice of those adorable dimples.
